What StreamRadar Does
StreamRadar is a Chrome extension that helps you discover live streams on Twitch. It fetches publicly available stream data from the Twitch API via a backend hosted at lonelyranchgames.com and displays it in your browser. No account is required. No login is needed.
Data We Do Not Collect
- No names, email addresses, or account information
- No browsing history or activity outside the extension
- No Twitch credentials or OAuth tokens
- No IP addresses stored or logged beyond standard hosting provider logs
- No analytics, tracking pixels, or third-party monitoring
- No cookies set on your device by StreamRadar
Data Collection & Local Storage
StreamRadar does not collect, store, or transmit personally identifiable user data. The only data the extension stores is your personal preferences, saved locally on your device using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.local API. This data never leaves your device:
- Your filter settings — game category, viewer range, rotation interval, language preference, and platform selection
- Your favorites list — streamer names and Twitch URLs you have starred
This data is stored solely for your convenience. You can clear it at any time from the Favorites panel in the extension.
Backend Server
When you start a feed, StreamRadar sends a request to a backend server at lonelyranchgames.com. This request contains only your filter preferences (game, viewer range, language, keywords) so the server can query the Twitch API on your behalf.
The server does not log these requests beyond standard web server access logs maintained by the hosting provider. No personally identifiable information is included — requests contain only stream filter parameters.
Stream data returned from the Twitch API is cached briefly (60 seconds) on the server to reduce API calls. This cache contains only public Twitch stream data, not any user information.
Twitch API
StreamRadar uses the official Twitch Helix API to fetch publicly available live stream data. StreamRadar does not require you to log in to Twitch, does not access your Twitch account, and does not interact with Twitch on your behalf in any way. All data fetched is public information visible to anyone on twitch.tv.
Third-Party Services
StreamRadar loads Twitch streams using Twitch's official embed player. When a stream plays, your browser connects directly to Twitch's servers and you interact with Twitch content directly. Twitch's own privacy policy governs that connection. StreamRadar does not control or collect data from Twitch embeds.
Hosted Player Page
When you start a feed, StreamRadar opens a player page hosted at lonelyranchgames.com to manage stream playback. This page loads its own assets and Twitch's official embed SDK from Twitch's servers, but does not execute any remote code within the extension itself. No user data is collected or stored by this page.
Data Usage
StreamRadar does not sell, transfer, or use any user data for advertising, analytics, or tracking purposes. All functionality is limited to providing stream discovery and rotation features. Your preferences stay on your device and your viewing activity is never monitored or recorded.
Children's Privacy
StreamRadar does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13. Since we collect no personal data whatsoever, there is nothing to disclose under COPPA.
Changes to This Policy
If this privacy policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new effective date. Continued use of StreamRadar after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
